GirlSing Philosophy

We seek to empower girls through song, songwriting and art to help them discover what they already possess in their musical selves, hearts, and minds.

IN MUSIC ==> We believe that:

Music, Songwriting and Art:

  • Expressed freely from an authentic place, provides a window to great understanding of what makes each girl unique.
  • Creates fertile ground for more meaningful connection and insight about her world and the world around her.
  • Provides lessons through symbolism and metaphors that are applicable to everyday life.
  •  Are a path to authentic creative exploration that helps girls identify the gifts they have to share in the world.
  • Allows groups of girls to connect positively and learn from one another through sharing their thoughts and inspirations.

FOR GIRLS ==> We believe:

  • Girls should be seen and heard

  • Potential is not dictated by gender

  • In providing girls with a nonjudgmental space in which to express themselves creatively.

  •  In a girl's right to confidence, self-reliance, and courage.
